Before you start
Set up your costs. Then build the quote.
The example uses the workbook’s included sample data. Replace it with your business’s costs.
What do I set up first?
Enter wages, payroll burden, benefits, nonproductive time, seasonal overhead, billable crew hours, target margin, minimum price, and mileage and storage assumptions. Yellow cells are inputs; green cells are calculations.
How do I count crew hours?
Add each worker’s hours. Two installers working 3 hours equals 6 crew hours. Include installation, removal, and service.
How does reusable inventory work?
Cost per job is purchase cost ÷ expected seasons ÷ jobs per season. Enter the applicable allocation in the quote; it is not transferred automatically.
How do I review actual results?
Use one row per completed job and enter actual revenue and all actual costs. Compare those results with the quote before planning the next job.
